Tip 2 - A Clean Cabin is a Healthy Cabin

Once you've read the article Cruise Ship Norovirus, you'll know the scary reality of what's lurking on all the surfaces in your cruise cabin. Cruise cabins are teaming with germs, it's scary stuff! Though it's easy to rid your cabin of the these invisible threats by sanitising the cabin. Here's a way to sanitise your cabin without expending unnecessary elbow-grease...

When you arrive in the cruise cabin, do a sanitising spritz.

Spray or wipe the TV remote control, light switches, door handles, shower knobs, toilet seat and tap with a sanitiser.

I use the Young Living Thieves Spray, it fits in the travel bag easily and is a powerful sanitiser.

The Thieves Wipes are also a great option for cleaning and sanitising cruise cabin surfaces.

Next there's that cabin room smell. Most people know the smell. It's musty, stuffy, damp, funky-feet stink, .... however you describe it, cabins have a smell to them. Or they have the smell of the chemical air fresheners and chemical cleaners used to cover-up the funk from the previous guests.

Here's what I do to get rid of the funky cabin stink...

I use a portable diffuser, with Purification essential oil. Purification is fantastic at combating foul odours, musty smells and cigarette smoke. Plus it helps to cleanse and purify the air without using nasty chemicals. It's fresh uplifting scent is a favourite with most people.

The Orb diffuser is a great travel sized diffuser, that's light-weight, portable and spill-proof. It's powered by either USB power or a power cord.

If you don't have a diffuser to take with you, try one of these options...

Option 1 : Drop a few drops of Purification essential oil around the room. I sprinkle a few drops around on the carpet and around the room.

Option 2 : Make up a spray bottle filled with water, add 10 drops of Purification oil blend and spritz the furnishings in the room, including the chairs, sofas and bedding.

Option 3 : Apply a few drops of Purification oil to cotton balls and place the cotton balls in air vents and air conditioning vents.
