What's the Difference in Toothpaste flavours?
All 3 toothpastes offer all-natural dental care, though they each have a different flavour.
Dentrarome Plus is sweet in it's flavour, with a sweet herbal type of taste of peppermint, wintergreen and hint of cinnamon-clove from Thieves.
Aromabright is sweet in it's flavour, with a minty flavour. In addition to the Thieves oil blend, Aromabright also features peppermint, spearmint and cinnamon bark oils which give the Aromabright that sweet mint flavour, sweeter than the Thieves Ultra toothpaste. Aromabright has a sweeter flavour than the Thieves Ultra toothpaste. It's flavour is closer to supermarket toothpastes, which some people find to be more pleasing if they're accustomed to the flavour of supermarket brands of toothpaste.
Thieves Ultra has a stronger spicy Thieves oil flavour, best described as a cinnamon-clove flavour.
Which Toothpaste
to Choose?
Which Thieves toothpaste you choose will be a matter of personal preference.
Aromabright and Thieves Ultra are the two most popular toothpastes.
When it comes to dental benefits, AromaBright toothpaste is a great option if you’re looking to combine the benefits of Dentarome Plus and Dentarome Ultra toothpastes.
If you're desiring teeth whitening benefits, Thieves Ultra is the toothpaste that most people choose.
Beyond the dental benefits, it comes down to flavour preference.
How does Thieves Toothpaste Compare with
Supermarket Brands?
Thieves toothpastes feature all-natural ingredients. Most supermarket brand toothpastes however, are filled with a host of chemicals that studies are showing can be very harmful to health.
Checkout the ingredients of Thieves Ultra toothpaste compared with a popular supermarket brand toothpaste.
The Mouth is Dirtier than the Colon
Most people would think the dirtiest place in the body is the colon or bowels. But it's not. It's common medical knowledge that the dirtiest place of the body is the mouth. Did you know the back of the tongue is literally teeming with pathogenic microorganisms.
Dr John Richter from the Richter Centre for The Diagnosis and Treatment of Breath Disorders says "more bacteria per square inch live on the back of the tongue that any other part of the body".
YUCKY!!
So here's the problem, few people use the toothbrush to remove those bacteria. So you might be thinking, I'll scrub the tongue clean. Though here's the rub, even if you scrubbed the tongue thoroughly, many bacteria would remain and quickly repopulate the mouth.
What's Not in
Thieves Toothpaste
You're in safe hands with Thieves Toothpaste. You have the added peace-of-mind knowing that your toothpaste doesn't contain harmful chemicals. In your Thieves Toothpaste there's
-
NO fluoride
-
NO dyes
-
NO SLS
-
NO synthetic ingredients
-
NO preservatives
-
NO GMOs
-
NO synthetic perfumes
The Heart Disease Link
In 2001 researchers were stunned at the annual session of the American College of Cardiology when new research was presented showing that gingivitis is actually linked to heart disease.
Dr Louise Rose DDS MD of the University of Pennsylvania stated that "There is sufficient evidence to conclude that oral lessions, especially advanced periodontophites, place certain patients at risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke"
It's said that the same oral pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis that causes gum disease also contributes to the inflammation along arteries and arterial damage that leads to heart and vascular disease.
Brushing is Not Enough - Why Conventional Toothpastes Don't Work
Most toothpastes work to prevent cavities by merely hardening the tooth enamel with fluoride or using abrasive salts to mechanically scrub away microorganisms from the teeth and gums.
However, brushing is not enough to eliminate bacterial, fungal and viral presence in the mouth. Microorganisms typically hide between teeth and under the tongue.
Whilst brushing removes some of the plaque and pathogens, it still leaves 40 to 70 perent of the microorganisms behind unscathed to later repopulate the mouth. Oral hygiene could be vastly improved by adding proven and potent antiseptics to the toothpaste matrix, rather than relying on either fluoride or scrubbing.
Essential Oils and Dental Hygiene
Essential oils are ideal for use in oral care products because they are both non-toxic and according to Dr Jean Valent "Essential Oils are especially valuable because of their aggression toward microbial germs is matched by their total harmlessness toward tissue". Dr Jean Valnet MD, used essential oils for decades in his clinical practice.
Check out Pubmed and Google to see the more than 100 clinical research studies on the effectiveness of essential oils in dental hygiene. Over 100 studies have been conducted on the essential oils and tooth decay and gingivitis.
According to Christine Charles in a study published by the Journal of the American Dental Association "The efficacy of an essential-oil-containing mouth rinse has been demonstrated in numerous double-blind clinical studies."
Excess Abrasion Destroys Tooth Enamel
The problem with many common brand toothpastes is that they contain very large-sized abrasive particles that can quickly wear away tooth enamel.
Did you know that tooth enamel can't be regenerated by the body? Tooth enamel loss is permanent, it is never replaced. As tooth enamel is lost, the softer dentin material underneath is exposed, resulting in greatly enhancing the risk of dental decay and tooth loss.
To preserve dental enamel, toothpaste should have extremely fine particles, which should be fine enough to not damage or wear away irresplaceable enamel but yet be sufficiently strong to remove the biofilm of dental plaque (caused by Streptococcus mutans bacteria) that can cause tooth decay, gingivitis and dental disease.
In the images on the right, shown in 500 times magnification are scanning electron microspope photos of ultrafine particle zinc oxide (image A) and calcium carbonate (image B) which form the base of the most advanced toothpastes in the world. These ultrafine particle sizes allow for gentle removal of dental plaque with minimal erosion of tooth enamel.
Image C shows a popular toothpaste that has particle sizes so large that a single grain nearly fills up the entire image area. Such huge particles are extremely corrosive to teeth, cleaning teeth while at the same time accerlerating the erosion of enamel.
Image D shows the large, angular structure of a leading whitening toothpaste, whose sharp, oversized structure whitens teeth by stripping away enamel with a sandpaper-like action.
Image E shows a popular household toothpaste with less angular but larger particle sizes with a rough, coarse, abrasive texture that can be highly damaging to dental structure. Long-term use of such toothpastes can hasten the loss of enamel and eventually increase the risk of tooth loss.

Removing Tarter Naturally
Most supermarket toothpastes use questionable chemicals including pentrasodium triphosphate and tetrasodium pyrophosphate to control tartar, the scale that builds up on teeth and irritates gums, leading to gingivitis, tooth loss and periodontal disease.
Studies published in the American Journal of Dentistry have documented the significant tartar-reducing effects of zinc citrate, including a randomised, double-blind six-month trial that showed a zinc citrate-containing toothpaste could reduce tartar by 26 percent.
